i bought the trek 950 new for $600 about 20 yrs ago. It has a nice stiff chro-moly fork and frame, no suspension. i added the WE brushed motor on the front first, then the Kollmorgen powered Currie USPD drive on the back for 2WD. I have since increased the power of the Kollmorgen and removed the front motor altogether. I have the batteries configured so i can select 50/100v operation and at the higher voltage it will definitely go much faster than i have any desire to go. In any case if you run these motors above 35-40 very long they seem to come apart after awhile, so i don't recommend it.
